Baby Shower Location Ideas/ In-law Drama!?
Hello everyone, my name is Rose & I am currently 51/2 mos. pregnant, my close relatives are planning a Baby Shower….but they are thinking more than likely to have it in a park since none of us are homeowners….I dislike the park since the setting isnt intimate but have no other choice. My mother-in-law has not offered her home as a potential location even though my husband still helps with the mortgage….my first baby…I wish for a nice shower what should I do?
I agree that not being a homeowner should not prevent you from Throwing A Baby Shower….many a renter has thrown a party!!
Also, to get over the PARK bump…..just let the hostess know that this is summer and it is hot and you would rather be in a climate controlled area (as would the other guests, too!). Plus a pregnant lady deserves a REAL toilet and washbasin on her day of honor….not a porta potty!!! (And the other guests would probably prefer this, too!)
Also keep in mind that your party-planners might be trying to throw you off the scent of a surprise they have planned….maybe they are just messing with you?
BUT….if, indeed, they are thinking park…..I would strongly encourage someone offer up an apartment or rent a restaurant banquet room during an off-peak time like 2pm on a Sunday.
Just be delicate when mentioning suggestions to the hostesses….they are trying to do something for you and your first baby and you wouldn’t want to step on their toes!!
