Your choice of cheap strollers should be as much about you and your lifestyle as it is about your baby, child or toddler. With such a huge variety available, all with various different levels of functionality, deciding which of the cheap strollers on the market is right for your can be a minefield. To narrow down your decision ask yourself the following questions. When you know the answers you will be well on your way to making an informed and wise purchase.

What Is Your Travel Situation?

How do you travel, are you predominantly a pedestrian? If so consider what type of surfaces your cheap stroller will be required to negotiate, country roads, town sidewalks, bumpy surfaces? This will give you an idea of sturdiness and the type of wheels required.

Will you need storage for shopping items?

As you have probably seen when out shopping, strollers are not only used to transport baby, they also come with additional storage features that can be attached, in the event that you need your stroller to carry a little more than your child. Always check out the accessories that are available with cheap strollers. You never know when you may want to add one.

Do You Use Public Transport?

How often and what type of public transport will you be using with baby and stroller? Depending on your answer, you may need to be thinking, lightweight (unless you are a weight trainer), and easy folding. Some cheap strollers come with a one-handed fold mechanism, which comes in very handy if baby or toddler is in your other hand. If you will be mostly traveling alone, then the ability to fold your stroller with one hand is a big advantage.

What About Your Car or Auto?

Now this one sounds obvious but believe me, I once bought a stroller that would not fit into the trunk of my car. So not only must you check it fits in your trunk, but remember all the trunks that you might need to fit it into. Do you have a childminder who uses a car? Will a member of the family be involved in transporting baby to a childminder or a day school? Make sure you measure the size of the stroller when it is folded.

Where Will You Store The Stroller?

You will need a safe place to store your stroller. A stroller lying around the house is not only dangerous for you, but in many cases leads to the stroller itself getting damaged. Cheap Strollers that can stand up on their own when folded are much easier to store, which helps if you are short on storage space. It is not cost effective to build an extension to your house to fit the stroller! So although you may think the stroller is all about baby, the first considerations should really be about you, and how you currently live, especially how you travel. Cheap strollers are not just about color, shape and how cute they look.

Shower everyday but without soap?

I’ve been reading a lot about how too much soap and shampoo use is actually a negative thing for your skin and hair and that we should have time to build up the body’s natural protecting oils…

I was wondering if it is OK to shower everyday but maybe only use body soap every other day and maybe shampoo once every three days? That way at least the water from shower daily will remove dirt and stuff but not over dry the body…

Moreover what type of gentle soaps and shampoos are available and cheap? I heard baby shampoo was good for hair without all the harsh chemicals

Let me know, thanks!!

I don’t do a lot of physical activity, and I don’t sweat, so I do shower every morning, but I only soap up my body every other day.

I do wash my hair every day though…I have the fine oily hair that looks awful if it’s not washed daily. Most other hair types can certainly get away with that though. Wish I could.

I sometimes use a dab of plain old Dial antibacterial handsoap on my puff with a little of my normal body wash- you know, to stretch it further. I think it works just fine, and it’s cheaper than body wash if you buy the big refill sizes.
