etiquette about a quilted baby blanket?
My supervisor gave me a baby blanket her mother quilted for me for my baby shower. It is beautiful. We want to use it as a wall hanging for the room instead of using it as a blanket…I want to tell her that as a complement, but I don’t want her to be offended by some reason. Would you be offended by that, or would you take that as a complement?
I did exactly the same thing with quilts that my husband’s godmother made for our children. I sewed loops of tape across the top and threaded a piece of dowelling through it and then hung it up with picture hanging twine. The kids had them on the wall for years and then I packed them away ( cleaned) in tissue for them to pass to their own children if they have any. I saw them as heirlooms – far too good for everyday use.
