Baby Shower Luncheon at a Restaurant….HELP!!!?
I am just planning to have my 2 friends a shower/luncheon at a restaurant, I had not planned on providing everyone’s food, just dessert and the 2 mommies-to-be’s lunch and then i will decorate and do games and such. on the invitation what is the best way to word that you have to pay for your own lunch?
Hmm…interesting. If you are giving a shower and you are providing lunch for the mommies you need to feed everyone. Otherwise, plan the shower at a time that it will be clear that it is not a meal. Write on the invitation what it is that will be there as a treat. Wine/cheese and fruit. Cake and Bubbly, French dessert, etc.. Everyone who is invited is already obligated to bring presents. As the hostess, you want your guest to bring gifts for the mommies and asking them to bring presents and pay for lunch is inappropriate. If you cannot afford to pick up the tab it would be a good idea to have the party at a different time of day. Another idea is to team up with other mutual friends and have the party at someones home, a park or some other public venue and everyone can pitch in and make there favorite spring salads and desserts.
