Baby Shower Gifts For Men
Baby Shower Gifts For Men

It is an extremely exciting time in a couple\’s life when they are expecting their first child. Family and friends are also very happy for the couple and everyone wants a chance to celebrate together. Baby Showers are the perfect way to celebrate this special event and allow everyone a chance to give the mother-to-be important first child advice!
The earliest records of Baby Showers show that they consisted of small groups of women meeting up for an afternoon tea where small gifts would be given to the expecting parents. Traditionally, showers are women-only but it has become more common to see men attend as well. The dad-to-be often arrives near the end of the shower to help his wife thank all their friends for their generous gifts.
Often, it is a close family member such as an aunt or a sister that plans the Baby Shower. The mother-to-be will help come up with the invitation list and suggest a few caterers or food possibilities, but she has other things on which she needs to focus. Ideally, you will hold the party on a weekend afternoon so that the majority of people can attend. Try to send out invitations at least two months ahead of time. People\’s weekend schedules fill up quickly and they might need to arrange for a babysitter to take care of the kids that afternoon.
People usually bring baby-oriented gifts for the parents-to-be, such as diapers, baby clothing, and toys. Many parents will register with one or two stores and point out gifts they would like to have. If you are someone who is short on money, however, and would prefer to give your time, that is always a helpful gift as well! Put together a coupon booklet with things that say \”three free hours of baby sitting services\” and \”a home cooked meal for mom and dad.\” Regardless of the gift you give, they will appreciate it!
Plan some fun baby games, such as \”guess the baby\’s name\” and \”guess what flavor baby food.\” Just check the web out for some more great ideas. Make sure that you start planning the Baby Shower soon! You want to make sure all the invitees have their babysitter nannies hired so that they can attend this great party!

How can I get my bosses to pitch in for my coworker’s baby present?
My friend/coworker and I work in a department of 5 people, the other 3 all being our superiors on different levels. They are all older Japanese men, and there are definite culture differences.
She is almost 7 months pregnant, and although I am organizing a baby shower for her at work, I do not think my bosses would want or feel comfortable attending. In the Japanese culture, things such as Baby Showers are very much ” a woman’s thing”. However, I feel that her having a baby is a huge life event and that our department should all pitch in on a nice present or gift card to present her with before she goes on maternity leave.
What do you think?
I work in an office of 300 in a huge global corporation. So the baby shower would be for select people from the office whom my friend knows and would like to be there.
Also, my department always pitches in on cake for birthdays, which I guess is not a very Japanese older man thing to do, but they still do it.
Just email everyone you want to include and tell them you are taking donations for a present. But dont make them feel bad about it. For example:
Hi all,
I am planning a Babyshower for ?? and thought it would be nice if we all would pitch in for a present. This way we could get her something really nice. If you are interested in donating for the present please contact me.
Thanks
???
This way it lets them know what you are doing and you are giving them the option to help out or not..
