Baby Shower Etiquette?

I am pregnant with baby #2 but my kids will be almost 8 years apart by the time this one gets here and my twin sister doesn’t think I should invite my extended family because this is my second child. Granite this baby is also a girl but things have changed alot in the last 8 years. What are the rules for this?
