Bob the Builder parties are especially popular among young boys, and they are incredibly easy to plan and fun for everyone! To begin, you can make invitations yourself using your home computer, or you can purchase them already made to co-ordinate with your Bob the Builder theme. Just be sure you include all necessary information such as where the party will be, precise drop off and pick up times, and any additional instructions such as asking parents to dress guests in old clothes, if you know they will be playing in dirt.

Decorations and party favors are very easy at this Bob the Builder party. Make construction signs with standard poster boards and paints. Use banners, crepe streamers, or plastic caution tape to delineate party area boundaries as well as provide party decorations. Provide all little construction workers with hard hats and tool belts of their own.

Meals can be simple. Fruit and sandwich brown bags with juice boxes may be made ahead of time. Dump truck cake is a great hit. Simply make nutty, chunky brownies into cup cakes, rather than one large cake, and serve them out of a large plastic or metal dump truck.

Put jelly beans into the back of another dump truck. Place an empty dump truck nearby. Using a small plastic shovel, allow blindfolded players to compete to see who can move the most beans from the full container to the empty one in a set amount of time. The winner gets a prize!

I need Baby Shower advice…?

My Baby Shower is only 12 days away, (my mother is throwing it), and we’re not really sure what we’re doing. The invites are out, we’re expecting about 25.

I am not a fan of cheesy games and decorations. I realize that this is tradition and people expect it, but I would really rather just have a nice, classy time and skip that stuff.

The shower will begin at 1:30 pm at my mother’s house, we are trying to keep it cheap. I work at Chili’s (and get a 50% discount), so my mom was thinking we could get party platters from my work. Some of the guests will also be Chili’s employees, is it rude to serve food that they probably eat on a regular basis?

Also, I would love some ideas of things to do (besides cheesy games) to entertain guests. Any non-traditional showers you have been to or thrown?

Are you supposed to have a cake?

Do I have to decorate with cheesy banners and blue paper plates and what not?

I’m new to this. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Have you seen the movie “father of the Bride 2″? Kind of a cheesy movie but their baby shower seems like exactly what your wanting! They decorated all the tables just with nice white tablecloths, had a big cake, a pretty table for gifts, some finger foods ect. It was really nice. Just a thought ;)
For a non-cheesy super useful game you could do a diaper raffle to encourage people to bring you diapers, just give them like 1 ticket for every 20 diapers (so a NB pack of 40 would get 2 tickets, a size 1 pack of 86 would get 4 tickets ect). If the invitations are already out you would ahve to tell people word of mouth probably about it, but this is the greatest thing I have ever seen at a shower. I did it for my best friend last month and she got more diapers than she knew what to do with. We drew a ticket while people were eating cake and the winner got a great gift basket that I put together for a prize (since there aren’t games you can spend a little more and get a really nice gift). Anyway, just an idea :)
Good luck and congrats!
