Baby Shower Activities

This is the article to read if you are looking for some good Baby Shower game ideas. It can be hard to come up with a game themed for the Baby Shower and you donÂ’t want to have fall back on generic party games for this unique event.
A good start off game is the ‘Baby’s Name’ contest. The guests can get into groups if they like or can work individually. Take the names of mommy and daddy-to-be and have the groups work to create fun and interesting acronyms of letters in the parents names to be the name for the new baby. The rules are very loose. You can decide to force the groups to use all the letters in the parent’s names or can let them pick and choose letters for the baby’s name. You can even let them use the parent’s last names in creating. The best names are the winners and you can hand out extra party favors.
Later on, say around mealtime you can start another fun game called ‘Baby’s Bottle.’ Hand out baby bottles filled with liquid to guests who want to participate. Then, have a contest to see who can suck on the baby bottle and empty out all the liquid the fastest. It’s not as easy to do as it sounds and guests will certainly find themselves dividing into groups of cheerleaders, cheering on their favorite contestants.
When it gets to be time to open the gifts hand out sheets of pink or blue construction paper for ‘Baby Bingo!’ Divide the paper into four, nine or sixteen square sections. The number of sections depends on how many gifts the soon-to-be parents will open at the party. Before anybody starts opening gifts have the guests draw or write the names of various gifts they think the mommy and daddy will receive. One gift per square, please. Then, as the parents open their gifts guests can place a poker chip or mark an ‘X’ on the squares that match their gift predictions. The first guest to complete an entire row wins a prize.

Baby Shower Idea‘s? Mocktails and activities?
Hi everyone
I’m 33 weeks along and my friends have shocked me with Throwing A Baby Shower this coming Friday (I found out today hehe). They had to tell me because they have no where else to hold it accept my place.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on activities you usually have at a baby shower? Also, I’m planning on making mocktails, any good recipes?
My friends have done all the organising (invites, etc) and will be doing all the cooking (its a dinner party) just trying to play hostess and at least put in a little effort.
Thanks in advance!
Prefer dairy free mocktails as my best friend is lactose intolerant
Since most of my friends and family aren’t really Baby Shower Game type people, we had to come up with some way to keep people interested. Especially when we were opening gifts for an hour. So my best friend manned an oven timer and every time the timer went off the person who gave me the gift I was opening at the time got a prize (we had 4 homemade pies to give away since I wanted the prizes to be something I knew they would use/enjoy). It was a great way to keep everyone involved.
We also had a diaper raffle. Anyone who brought in a pack of diapers got 5 tickets for a gift basket drawing. We put together a ‘Romantic Italian Dinner For Two’ basket, with plates, silverware, wine, food, etc. It was probably worth $50 by the time it was done, but the amount of diapers I got in return are easily worth $200.
And another thing that was a HUGE help to me was my best friend took all the envelopes from my thank you cards and had people fill out their own names & addresses on them as they came in and left a gift. I can’t even tell you how much time that saved me. And it helped me to know that I didn’t miss anyone
Oh and we had cupcakes instead of a real cake, saved a ton of mess (no forks or plates, people just grabbed one when they wanted one) all of them got eaten and we didn’t have to worry about wrapping up portions of cake for people to take home. If you want a cake to cut though for some ceremonial reason or what not, just get a small one for yourself and have cupcakes for everyone else.
I think that’s about it though. I wish you much luck and have a great time!!!
